Payment receipts
If the student requests it, an individual payment receipt can be provided, either:
-
on paper after each lesson,
-
by email,
-
or via WhatsApp in digital format.
3. Changes and cancellations
These rules apply to all booked lessons, regardless of the booking channel.
3.1 Changes or cancellations more than 48 hours in advance
-
No cost.
-
The date can be modified, rescheduled or cancelled without penalty.
3.2 Changes or cancellations within 48 hours and up to 24 hours before the class
A fee of 50% of the lesson price applies, unless justified.
-
If already paid: 50% will be refunded.
-
If not yet paid: the student must pay 50%.
3.3 Cancellations made within the last 24 hours before the class
-
100% of the lesson price must be paid.
-
Only exempted in case of a justified reason (see point 3.6).
3.4 No-show without prior notice
-
The full amount must be paid.
-
If the lesson was paid, there is no refund.
3.5 Cancellations on my part
If I must cancel due to personal reasons or force majeure:
-
A new date will be offered at no cost, or
-
The full amount will be refunded if already paid.
3.6 What is considered a “justified reason”?
Justified reasons are only those unforeseen events that objectively make it impossible to attend the lesson or notify earlier. These reasons may reduce or exempt the cancellation fee, always after individual evaluation.
Acceptable, reasonable and verifiable justifications communicated in time include:
-
Significant sudden illness*
-
Accident or personal emergency
-
Medical issues of the student or a direct family member
-
Force majeure (power outage, blackout, general internet failure, extreme weather conditions, etc.)
*Regarding health reasons, students are kindly asked to inform as soon as they detect symptoms or discomfort that may prevent them from attending the lesson. If the illness develops gradually or lasts for some time, it is important that the cancellation is communicated well in advance to properly manage the schedule. Cancellations notified at the last minute, when the situation was already known beforehand, cannot be considered justified to exempt from the corresponding fees.
To maintain stable and fair organisation for all students, the following situations will NOT be considered justified:
-
Last-minute personal schedule changes or social commitments.
-
Work or study activities planned in advance.
-
Forgetting the appointment, calendar mistakes or lack of planning.
-
Personal decision not to attend without an impeding reason.
In these cases, the applicable cancellation fees will apply based on the notice period.
General criteria
-
Each case will be assessed reasonably, trying to find the most suitable solution.
-
Students are encouraged to report any unforeseen situation as soon as possible, even if it is still uncertain whether attendance will be possible.
-
The purpose is to guarantee an organised and respectful schedule, avoiding harm to other students or the teacher’s planning.
3.7 How to notify a change or cancellation
Accepted ways to notify:
-
WhatsApp
-
Email
-
Contact form
-
Phone call (but if I do not answer, a missed call does not count as notice; in that case, sending a message is recommended so that there is proof)
-
Change or cancellation of the appointment via the user’s personal account on the MusikLab website, provided this is done more than 48 hours before the scheduled class
3.8 Validity of change or cancellation notices
To ensure proper organization and fairness in managing lessons, it is established that any official notice of modification or cancellation will only be considered from the moment the student definitively confirms the change or cancellation.
It is common for students to initiate inquiries or requests for changes in advance, but since the final confirmation can be delayed due to checking their schedules and communication is not always immediate, it is expressly clarified that:
-
A mere inquiry or initial request for change will not be considered a valid notice.
-
The validity of the notice will only be granted upon the student’s explicit and definitive confirmation.
-
If such confirmation occurs within the 24 hours prior to the lesson or on the same day, the conditions applicable to late notices or cancellations according to the current policy will apply.
This provision supports transparency and predictability in scheduling, safeguarding the interests of both the students and the teacher.
3.9 Late arrivals
I understand that unforeseen events may occur. In case of arriving late:
-
It is important to notify as soon as possible.
-
I usually have about a 15-minute margin between lessons to finish one and prepare the next.
-
Therefore, the lesson will normally end at the scheduled time, although whenever possible, I will be flexible and may extend it slightly depending on the day.
If more than 20 minutes pass from the start time without prior notice, the lesson may be considered a no-show, and the corresponding conditions will apply.
3.10 Specific Policy for Lesson Packs
Payment and Non-Refundable
-
Lesson packs must be paid in full in advance.
-
Once payment is confirmed, the pack is non-refundable, even if the student chooses not to use all the lessons included.
-
Advance payment guarantees priority scheduling and stable planning.
Changes and cancellations for lesson packs
The change and cancellation rules follow sections 3.1–3.4, with one difference: for packs there are no cash refunds — instead, when applicable, the situation is handled via a voucher.
a) Cancellation or rescheduling more than 48 hours in advance (no charge)
-
The lesson can be rescheduled without penalty.
-
It is not deducted from the pack.
b) Cancellation or rescheduling between 48 and 24 hours before the lesson (50% policy)
-
The lesson is deducted from the pack (it is considered used).
-
Since the pack has already been paid, there is no cash refund.
-
MusikLab will issue a compensation voucher equal to 50% of the value of that lesson (based on the per-lesson pack price, or if not applicable, the current single-lesson price).
c) Cancellation within the last 24 hours or no-show
-
The lesson is deducted from the pack (it is considered used).
-
No voucher is issued and there is no refund.
Compensation voucher (how it works)
-
The voucher is issued only in case b) (cancellation between 48 and 24 hours).
-
The voucher equals 50% of the value of that lesson.
-
The voucher can be used only towards the purchase of a new lesson pack.
-
Validity: 6 months from the cancellation date.
-
One voucher per purchase (vouchers cannot be combined in the same purchase).
-
If multiple vouchers are generated within one pack, they may be used in separate pack purchases.
Lesson Record and Use
-
Each completed or canceled lesson is individually recorded within the pack.
-
Lessons not used within the validity period of the pack are not refunded or carried over to later periods, unless otherwise agreed.
-
The record ensures transparency and provides clear control over consumed and available lessons.
Purpose
These conditions ensure consistency with the general cancellation policy, clarity in pack management, schedule stability, and protection against repeated or abusive cancellations.
The aim is to maintain an organized and fair operation, respecting both the teacher’s availability and the students’ commitment.
4. Prices, price updates and conditions applicable to current students
4.1 Current applicable pricing
The prices applicable to lessons and other services offered by MusikLab shall, as a general rule, be those set out in the current pricing in force at any given time, as published on the MusikLab website or communicated directly to the student.
MusikLab reserves the right to update, modify or revise its prices at any time.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, any new booking, purchase or service request shall be governed by the pricing in force on the date on which it is confirmed.
4.2 Current students and continuation of previous conditions
In the case of students who were already taking lessons before a price update takes effect, the price previously applied to their usual services may generally be maintained.
However, as a general rule, MusikLab may adapt that previous price to the new pricing in force or, where appropriate, apply an intermediate price before the end of the same calendar year in which the new pricing was published.
The decision as to whether the previous price is maintained temporarily, whether the new current price is applied directly, or whether an intermediate price is established shall rest exclusively with MusikLab, taking into account factors such as organisation, continuity, the student’s length of time as a student, regularity of attendance, and the type of service used up to that point.
If MusikLab decides to apply a price review or increase to a current student, that change will be communicated in advance.
If no modification is communicated, it shall be understood that the student continues under the price previously applied to the corresponding services that they had already been using on a regular basis.
The maintenance of a previous price does not constitute an acquired right of indefinite duration, but rather a condition that MusikLab may review in the future, provided that the student is informed in advance in the event of any change.
4.3 Scope of the maintenance of a previous price
Where a previous price is maintained, it shall apply only to the specific services that the student had already been using before the price update.
That maintenance shall not automatically extend to:
-
new modalities,
-
new lesson durations,
-
new formats,
-
or other services not previously used by the student.
For example, if a student had been taking 60-minute individual online lessons and/or 60-minute in-person lessons, any possible maintenance of the previous price may apply only to those specific services. 30-minute lessons, 90-minute lessons, or any other different services shall be subject to the current pricing in force at that time.
4.4 Lesson packs
Lesson packs shall always be governed by the latest pricing in force at the time of purchase or booking.
Even where a student temporarily or continuously retains a previous price for certain individual services, that condition shall not apply to lesson packs.
Accordingly:
-
there shall be no lesson packs offered under previous prices,
-
no right shall arise to purchase future lesson packs at an earlier price,
-
and any new lesson pack must be paid for in accordance with the pricing in force published by MusikLab at that time.
The maintenance of a previous price applies, where applicable, only to the specific individual services that the student had already been using and to which MusikLab continues to apply that condition, but never to lesson packs, which shall always remain subject to the current pricing in force.
4.5 Communication of changes
Any price change affecting a current student shall be communicated in advance by MusikLab.
In the absence of such communication, it shall be understood that the previously applicable financial conditions remain in force for the student’s usual services that had already been used up to that point.
The student may consult their assigned pricing at any time within their personal area, including the prices and conditions applicable to their services.
If the student has any questions regarding the applied prices, conditions, or any outstanding amounts, they are welcome to contact MusikLab directly.
5. Right of withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht)
In accordance with § 356 (4) BGB, the 14-day withdrawal right does not apply once the student has requested or agreed that the lesson begins within that period and the service has been fully provided.
By booking or paying, the student expressly agrees that MusikLab may provide the service immediately and understands that the withdrawal right expires once the lesson has taken place.
6. Nature of the service
MusikLab is not a company nor a registered music school.
The services offered are part of the independent activity of:
Josu Ferreras Zulueta – Flutist and flute teacher
All lessons are offered and billed as individual teaching services.
7. Refund policy
Refunds:
-
are made through the same payment method,
-
are usually processed within 3–5 days.
If the student makes booking mistakes (for example, choosing an incorrect date or duplicating an appointment), the general cancellation conditions will apply.
About expectations and learning process
Each student has their own rhythm and musical development. MusikLab is committed to offering professional, attentive and personalised guidance, but it is not possible to guarantee a specific artistic result in a certain period, as this depends on many individual factors.
8. Schedule protection and consistency
MusikLab reserves the right to:
-
limit the number of consecutive changes from the same student,
-
cancel future bookings if the policies are repeatedly violated,
-
request advance payment from students with frequent cancellations.
This protects both my professional organisation and the availability for other students.
9. Personal data and communication
The data provided for booking (name, phone, email, etc.) are used solely to:
-
manage lessons,
-
send reminders or important notices,
-
communicate changes or incidents.
They are not shared with third parties.
10. Acceptance of this policy
By booking a lesson, the student declares that they:
-
Have read these conditions,
-
Understand them,
-
Accept them.
These policies may be updated at any time.
The valid version will always be the one published on the website.
